On 22nd and 23rd of October 2024, delegation from the Council for advancement and oversight of the audit of the Republic of North Macedonia led by the president of the Council, Aleksandar Naumoski and acting coordinator of the Professional Service, Zarko Kamcev, attended the Third regional audit quality assurance forum on the topic Improving audit quality through Cooperation organized by the World Bank, Center for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR). On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of North Macedonia on 23rd of October the delegation had a meeting at the embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Bucharest and had a meeting with the acting Ambassador Zlatan Begovic, to whom the activities of the Macedonian delegation were presented.
The meeting highlighted the future activities of the Council, which are expected to receive future support from the Macedonian embassy in Bucharest. Namely, the Acting Ambassador was informed that it was agreed to renew the “Memorandum of Cooperation between the Romanian audit regulatory authority (ASPAAS) and the Council”, which was already signed in 2015, and for which specific future activities have already been agreed. Within which a request was expressed that the President of the Romanian regulatory authority provide support to the Council for future membership, as an observer, in the “CEAOB- Committee of European Auditing Oversight Bodies” in Brussels, during the recent visit of the Council Delegation to the “19th Subcommittee on Internal Market and Competition” in Brussels, which will be held on 12th of November 2024.
At the same time, the Council delegation stated that the Council also held a working meeting with Natalia Vovchuk, the Head of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA&CIMA), which is headquartered in Bucharest, and which is under the patronage of the “Center for Financial Reporting Reform” (CFRR) – Vienna. The readiness was expressed of the organization to finance part of the project activities proposed by the Council in the shortest possible time, and that the Macedonian Embassy in Bucharest would be regularly informed about future activities.
